Being part of our friends group is a great way to get involved and be part of the Clare Valley community.
You can do as much or as little as you want! We need help with all aspects of the project, from trail maintenance to administration.

It’s almost finished, the 14th of May 2023 will mark 2 years since we opened stage 1 of the trail.
We will have 120km of stunning hiking and walking trail throughout the Clare Valley, join us on the 13th or 14th of May (preferably both) to celebrate the momentous occasion.

Please note that some sections of the CVWWT are closed during the SA Fire Danger Season, fire danger season is normally from the 15th of November to the 30th of April each year, however the CFS may alter this from from time to time, please check

Today we began installing new signage at points where walkers enter private property.
Currently we have 20 private landholders and 13 Wineries who have opened up their properties to generously support the trail, you can see them all here;

After extremely successful openings of stages 1 and 2 over the past 12 months, we are very excited to announce the opening of Stage 6 of the CVWWT on the 1st of May 2022.
This stage will run from the Clare Valley Wine, Food & Tourism Centre to Paulett Wines via the Hill River Valley. Pauletts will host a gourmet BBQ and premium Paulett wines for all wakers (available for purchase on the day).

Not long now before the opening of Stage 2 of the CVWWT on Sunday the 3rd of October 2021.
Stage 2 is 19km long and runs from Armagh (Jim Barry Wines) to Spring Gully (Jeanneret Wines).

On Sunday the 4th of July a group of about 15 keen hikers gathered to test out Stage 2 of the CVWWT, which runs from Jim Barry Wines to Jeanneret Wines.
It was a stunning winters day with a few rain showers thrown in to keep us on our toes.

Jeanneret Wines, who are located in the spectacular Spring Gully region of the Clare Valley have been confirmed as the end point of stage 2 of the trail.
Stage 2 will run from Jim Barry wines through to Jeanneret, which is approx 19km.

On Sunday the 23rd of May we set about to improve the stage 1 trail markers.
The trail markers are now more prominent (rather than blending into the landscape!) and we have begun the process of marking the trail in the reverse direction as well.
Helping on the day were Annie Pitt, Kirsty Gwynn Jones, Bianca Grigg (pictured) Michael Nugent and Tim Grigg.

Stage 1 of the Clare Valley Wine & Wilderness Trail was officially opening by the Premier, The Hon Steven Marshall over the ANZAC day long weekend.
All up we had around 60 walkers who completed the full 20km stage from The Clare valley Wine, Food & Tourism Centre to Jim Barry Wines.
Freshly baked ANZAC biscuits and morning tea was enjoyed by all from the hill top conservatory on Hill River Station, with sensational views over both the Hill River & Hut River Valleys.

The Clare Lions Club have donated $3000 to the Clare Valley Wine & Wilderness Trail.
The very generous donation comes from the proceeds of the Clare Lions Club recycled furniture shop.
The funds will be used to purchase and install fence stiles along the trail.
